Her work consists mainly of portraits and figurative paintings and drawings that are often described as whimsical, emotive, and in certain instances, playfully peculiar. As a child, Alexa was curious when discovering the world of drawing and painting, but as she approached her young adult years, she chose the seemingly safe route of attending a large university where she graduated with a degree in Finance. After graduating in 2010, and with the encouragement and motivation of her family and friends, Alexa began to explore her true calling, and started working as a freelance, commissioned artist, whilst simultaneously building her personal portfolio. Since then, she has created numerous custom paintings for clients throughout the country, and has been invited to show her work in multiple nationally juried shows, including the annual exhibitions of the Pastel Society of the South West in Grapevine, TX in 2014, and the Pastel Society of America in New York City in 2015. She was also the featured artist for the “Frida Kahlo: La Flor de la Vida” group exhibition in Dallas, TX in 2016. Today, Alexa is working full time as an artist in Dallas and continues to explore her artistic journey of growth and creativity.
